It Happens At Johnson's Ranch!
Throughout the year, Johnson's Ranch is involved
in many events, July 4th parade of boats and fireworks show, the
annual Christmas event featuring decorated four-wheeled vehicles
and a few boats, New Year's Eve fireworks spectacular, motor cycle
rallies, Texas Independence Crawfish Boil and fishing tournaments.
Johnson's Ranch has also been the temporary headquarters
for crews filming movies and documentaries in the Caddo Lake area.
The film crews of Shark Night 3D and Boggy Creek,
and a music video starring Yoann Lemoine (Wood Kid)
used Caddo Lake and Johnson's Ranch as backdrops for
their productions. Segments of Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters
and National Geographic's Snake Salvation were filmed nearby.
(Catch a glimpse of Billy Carter in both TV shows, and Roland
Zamorano in Snake Salvation.)
The Johnson's Ranch parking lot is THE place to view
Uncertain's annual 4th of July parade and fireworks show. The parade
follows the shore line from Taylor Island to Dallas Caddo Club on
Independence Day when cleverly decorated boats float by. DJs or
live bands entertain, creating a festive mood along the bayou. (There
is no admission for parade entries or viewing.)
Over the years many movies have been filmed on and around Caddo
Lake (including a few in the making).
The crew (above photos) from the movie "Shark Night 3D"
use Johnson's Ranch as the staging area for the filming operations
on Caddo Lake.
The annual Boo Run benefiting burn survivors and "Camp I'm
Still Me" brought hundreds of motorcycle riders to Johnson's
Ranch on 2010. Johnson's Ranch, last stop for the Jefferson,
TX Boo Run, provided fried fish dinners, live music and a beautiful
setting for hundreds of bikers participating in this benefit for
burn victims. ( Johnson's Ranch Marina will contribute and
be a part of any program initiating grant money to the Percy Johnson
Texas Independence Day Run for The Crawfish
The Uncertain Rendezvous 2010, a group of motorcycle sidecar
